Description: Rainbows The photo was taken September 10, 2010 in Austin, Texas after Tropical Storm Hermine came through the city. You can see the Austin Skyline in the picture. �Somewhere over the rainbow, skies are blue, and the dreams that you dare to dream really do come true� "Over the Rainbow" (often referred to as "Somewhere Over the Rainbow") is a classic ballad song with music by Harold Arlen and lyrics by E.Y. Harburg. It was written for the movie The Wizard of Oz, and was sung by Judy Garland in that movie. Over time it would become Garland's signature song. In the film, part of the song is played by the MGM orchestra over the opening credits. About 5 minutes later, Garland, in the role of Dorothy Gale, sings Over the Rainbow after unsuccessfully trying to get her aunt and uncle to listen to her regarding an unpleasant incident involving Dorothy's dog Toto and the nasty spinster Miss Gulch, whom Toto bit after she struck him with a rake. Dorothy's Aunt Em tells her to "find a place where you won't get yourself into any trouble", prompting the girl to walk off by herself and sing the song. The famous sequence itself, as well as the entirety of the Kansas scenes, was directed (though uncredited) by King Vidor. Here are the complete lyrics. Description: Journaling: Grandma's Nutbread This recipe, a favorite of my father�s, was his mother�s own. It was handed down to my mother and then to me. I always made it for my father when I went to visit or my parents visited us. Now that he�s gone I just haven�t made it very often. It�s hard to find graham flour, so I usually substitute whole wheat flour. I always think of my grandmother and my father when I make and eat this bread. We like it sliced and spread with butter. Nutbread 1 egg, 1 c. sugar; 1 c milk, 1 c white flour, 1 c graham flour, 1 c chopped nuts, 1 t salt, 2 t baking powder Mix and let stand in greased pans twenty minutes. Bake in 400� oven , 45�50 minutes or till middle is no longer moist. Description: More scanned pages from my grandma's original recipe book (journal) that I'm making into a family heritage recipe book. The white cake recipe I've tried. I use vanilla for flavoring and bake at 350 for 30 min. It doesn't use baking soda - the cake is more dense like a cake donut and tastes wonderful. I frost with chocolate frosting. Description: This is my FIRST LO without following my tutorial CD. In the past, I have used the CD along with the elements that came with it. This is totally my creation (along with Linda's kit) and I am going for "Less is More" style. Is it too understated? My parents did not have a formal wedding and there were no photos. This is the first photo taken of them after they were wed. Little River is on the SC/NC border along the coast. I thought this kit was perfect for this photo as well as many others I have of my coastal family.
